I bought Halo 5: Guardians the minute I could, I’ve been one of the biggest Halo nerds and I’ve played every game. I can honestly say that this Halo has been the biggest change-up since Halo Reach, critics are calling it the most innovative FPS (first person shooter) to come out yet.
I am in absolute love with the campaign, the scenery, the story, and the amazing graphics lead to an intense story mode. And with the added feature of playing with 4 friends or 4 automated characters, it leaves you with a lot bigger and badder enemies to fight and in larger numbers. I personally am making it my mission to beat it on legendary and so far I’ve noticed the team mates as a hindrance and a strength. The computers are effective at times and others just end up running blindly into every grenade that an alien throws. But so far they are more help than not by reviving me every time I get absolutely dropped by a trigger happy grunt.
Online is so far a huge staple of the game, you cannot access any other game functions besides settings, unless you are connected to WiFi. the game modes like arena and war zone are very fun and you can tell they put a lot of work into making the games as action packed as possible. However I will say that the game still needs a bit of work the controls for your character are not the easiest to use and you should think twice before diving into a war zone match.
First off this game is expensive but if you are a halo fan or just looking for a game with hours of playable campaign missions and action packed online then the price shouldn’t be to much of an issue.
While controlling your character they have added several functions, The ground pound, the charge shoulder attack, and the aim down sight function. These functions lead to a very busy game with a steep learning curve. As for the aim down sight function I find it nearly useless, your sensitivity increases while you are aimed down sight (rather than slowing down like every other game with this function). Which leaves me never using it because it is so hard to hit things with your cross hairs flying all over the screen.
Rating and full review will be added after I get more of a feel for the game, and finish the campaign.
