RYGUY’S GAMING WITH NERDS: ‘Fallout 4’ Impressions and Review, Is It Worth All Those Caps?

Alright here’s the situation nerds, Fallout 4 has been without a doubt one of the games I was most excited for and this game did not disappoint in the slightest! Bethesda always does an amazing job with their games and they have succeeded in making yet another gorgeous, action filled, non stop exciting, open world RPG.

The setting (SPOILER ALERT)
You are either a male or female character and thanks to your military accomplishments during the war, you and you’re family have been given advanced reservation into vault 111. Vaults are state of the art underground bunkers that are secretly complex government social experiments on its dwellers.
You’re character wakes up from a 200 year cryo sleep and now must find your missing family members somewhere in the vast nuclear wasteland. This is an open world game , your choices and alliances are your own and you can do whatever you want.

What they improved on since fallout 3
Fallout 3 was an amazing game but Bethesda some how managed to make an amazing game even more glorious. Fallout 3 had a very doom and gloom atmosphere that at times felt very lonely unless you had a companion, but lets face it those guys are not good for anything except carrying the crap you don’t want, and getting in the way when your shooting. Fallout 4 has a beautiful full range weather simulator, you can experience everything from open blue skies, to a dark misty day, all the way to sun showers. Another huge change is the looting, everybody who plays Fallout has been a victim of the “I will sell this later” syndrome. Now they have made it faster to search and loot bodies, you can now just take things off the bodies and containers rather than going into a separate menu, maximizing the time you have to collect stuff you’ll never use. Combat is another major thing, VATS no longer pauses the game it just slows it down, and you can legitimately aim down the sights of your gun allowing you to be crazy accurate with your shots. Now along side with new enemies, thousands of new weapons and armor customization options, you can now personalize your own weapons and apparel, as well as your own power armor. The icing on the cake to all of this is that you now can MAKE YOUR OWN SETTLEMENT. If you’ve played Bethesda’s mobile game Fallout shelter, then you will be familiar with the rules of your settlement. Quiet simply you must give your’e people a water source, food source, and power source. All while developing defenses like walls and turrets.

Add in the never ending slue of missions and collectibles, there is now no level cap, yeah that’s right you can now level up and strengthen your character to your heart’s content. Bethesda has successfully made us excited for the end of the world yet again and they couldn’t have done a better job although there are a few things stopping this game from being completely perfect, they have come damn close to it and it’s amazing!

My Official Rating 9.6/10
