CONFIRMED: ‘X-Men: The New Mutants’ Will Shoot In Boston

Omega Underground recently reported on an Instagram post from X-Men: The New Mutants director Josh Boone scouting locations in Boston. Now, this has been confirmed by the folks over at The Boston Globe.

It’s not clear where Boone will be filming — we’re told scouts have looked at Medfield State Hospital, where director Martin Scorsese filmed scenes for “Shutter Island” — but we at least know work has begun because Boone posted a picture on Instagram announcing that the long-gestating movie is finally off the ground. It’s one of a few film projects now rolling, or soon to be.

A release date has yet to be made official along with the film’s official cast, but Boone has revealed pre-production is underway.
