Omega Underground has uncovered a second casting call for Colin Trevorrow’s Star Wars: Episode IX that also reaffirms a July production start date on the film.
The previous casting call Omega Underground found was looking for extras and affirmed a July production start date in the UK. This was backed up by a second source we spotted as production information listed by My Entertainment World also mentioned the July start date.
This new casting call now is seeking leads and supporting roles. Basically, they’re about to cast the film and this supports Colin’s hints during CinemaCon that he’s been deep in pre-production on the Star Wars sequel during the filming of Jurassic World 2.
“I’m on Jurassic World 2 in the morning and helping J.A. Bayona as a writer until noon. Then, I go over to my other office at Pinewood [for Star Wars] to work. I go there in the afternoon, and we’re writing, and we’re designing, and there is a draft, and we’re throwing 110% of our souls into it, so there’ll be nothing left of me when I’m done.”
Many have assumed a release date for 2019, but the studio has yet to lock in a date for the sequel.
A reminder, Omega Underground is not with Lucasfilm or their casting departments. Do not send us headshots or resumes, they will be deleted.
Here is the new casting call.
