After a very long directing search Marvel has finally found their set of directors for their first female-lead superhero movie Captain Marvel. Variety has learned that the studio was immensely impressed with upcoming directing duo Anna Boden and Ryan Fleck (Mississippi Grind) after several conversations with the duo. The studio was also waiting for the script to fully come together before finding a director. The screenplay was penned by Inside Out scribe Meg LeFauve and Guardians of the Galaxy scribe Nicole Perlman.
This comes off almost a full year since Oscar-winner Brie Larson was announced as the star back in San Diego Comic-Con 2016. Which was more for the character’s introduction in Avengers: Infinity War or Avengers 4. However, that has yet to be confirmed but makes the most sense.
Last month we at Omega Underground learned that production on Captain Marvel is expected to begin this January in Atlanta. Where all recent Marvel Studio films have been filmed.
