AMC’s long-gestating Preacher adaptation from Seth Rogen, Evan Goldberg (This Is The End) and Sam Catlin (The Great New Wonderful) is finally taking shape and has now found its first cast member and leading lady.
In a geeky bit of meta casting, CBS has added two former Kryptonians to the cast of its upcoming Supergirl series. According to TVLine, Dean Cain and Helen Slater have joined the cast in “top secret” guest roles.
In an unprecedented and unexpected turn of events, the CW has announced their plans for the next Arrow and Flash spin-off series. Described as a “team-up” show from Arrow/Flash producers Greg Berlanti, Andrew Kreisberg, Marc Guggenheim and Sarah Schechter, the show will be led by Brandon Routh (Arrow’s Atom), Wentworth Miller (The Flash’s Captain Cold), Caity Lotz (Arrow’s Canary) and Victor Garber (one half of The Flash’s Firestorm), and feature “three major DC Comics characters who have never appeared in a TV series.”
With CBS’ Supergirl series heading into development, picking up new cast members, and currently seeking its Superman, more character and story details are beginning to trickle in.
Universal has made an exciting two-year deal with husband and wife comic book creators Matt Fraction and Kelly Sue DeConnick, that allows the duo to use their Milkfed Criminal Masterminds production company to adapt their own work – as well as the work of other writers and creators – for television.
Though many of us suspected that Kara Zor-El’s famous cousin would show up on the upcoming CBS Supergirl series, it’s now been made official. Or, more official, thanks to a recently-released casting call.
