J.J. Abrams Confirms Chris Hemsworth Will Return In ‘Star Trek 4’; Are We Getting Time-Travel?

Chris Hemsworth before he was Thor played Captain Kirk’s father in the opening sequence of J.J. Abrams’ Star Trek. Well it’s been a couple of years later and Hemsworth is a massive star thanks to the Avengers, his solo Thor franchise and now Ghostbusters, which has led to his potential return to Star Trek.

Abrams confirmed to reporter Scott Mantz (via ThePlaylist) that Hemsworth and Chris Pine would reunite for Star Trek 4, how that will happen seems to be up in the air. We’ve seen alternative dimensions and time-travel used in previous incarnations, so it’s not out of the realm of possibilites. They might even end-up pairing together on a mission of their own, who knows?

What we do know is that Pine and Zachary Quinto have already established deals to return for the fourth installment.
