Jason Momoa’s ‘Aquaman’ Begins Filming May 2017 in Queensland, Australia

Every bit of Aquaman news has been met with existential praise. One of t he most ridiculed characters in modern comics is about to get his first feature length film and fans can’t get enough of him. First, we got word that game of Thrones star Jason Momoa is set to play the King of Atlantis. Then horror master James Wan boarded the project as director. Lastly we have heard that Amber Heard as joined the cast as Mera. With Patrick Wilson re-teaming with director James Wan as Aquaman’s half-brother Orm, the Ocean Master.

Now thanks to My Entertainment World we have learned that Aquaman is expected to begin filming May 2017 in Queensland, Australia before moving production to Sicily, Italy. Filming was rumored to begin sometime in 2017 with production confirmed in Australia by local reporters. However, this is the first time we have a date to go along with the filming location.

In other news, Mad Max: Fury Road stunt team has begun rehearsing for their extensive deep water stunts for the film. Stunt director Keir Beck went onto tell 9News about the rehearsal process for Aquaman “General stunt skills, fighting, if there is water sequences obviously being capable and competent in water”
