‘The Losers’ Director Sylvain White Will Helm The Upcoming Horror Film ‘The Slender Man’

Today, Deadline has announced that the director behind The Losers and Stomp the Yard Sylvain White has signed onto direct an upcoming horror film based on The Slender Man. The film is being produced by Screen Gems and being penned by screenwriter David Birke. This isn’t White’s first step into horror as he has directed several episodes of The CW’s vampire show The Original’s as well as 2006’s I’ll Always Know What You Did Last Summer.

Slender Man revolves around a tall, thin horrifying figure with unnaturally long arms and a featureless fact, who is reputed to be responsible for the haunting and disappearance of countless children and teens.

Slender Man began as an internet meme on 4Chan but eventually become the inspiration for several real life attempted murders. The murders will be expanded upon in this month’s HBO documentary Beware the Slenderman. You can watch the trailer for that documentary HERE.

Slender Man hits February 2nd, 2018
