‘Riverdale’ Producers Hope To Bring ‘Sabrina The Teenage Witch’ To The Show

Many are unaware but Sabrina: The Teenage Witch was a comic that co-existed in the same universe as Archie. The comic was then made popular by the later 90’s sitcom Sabrina The Teenage Witch played by Melissa Joan Hart. It’s been 20 years since the show first debuted and many are wondering if a reboot is ever in the pipeline.

Currently, The CW is hard at work promoting their upcoming Archie adaption Riverdale at the TCA’s  this week. When asked CBS producer Jim Colucci went on to confirm that Josie and the Pussycats are already set to appear on the show and they hope to introduce Sabrina sometime down the road:

Like The Simpsons “Treehouse of Horror” episodes every year. Riverdale would like to do Halloween specials that could potentially include Sabrina. When asked by ComicBook.com Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa told the site that an “Afterlife” episode was still on the table for the upcoming reboot. In that comic Riverdale that is overrun by zombies after Sabrina tries to resurrect Hot Dog, Jughead’s dog, when it’s killed by a hit-and-run driver. Obviously, they would recast Sabrina for a new young audience.

Riverdale debuts later this January
