RUMOR: Hugh Jackman Cast as Scar in Disney’s ‘The Lion King’?

Today, kicked off  the biggest day for Disney’s D23 Convention. It was revealed to Omega Underground by someone with knowledge from the production that Hugh Jackman (Logan) has joined the voice cast of The Lion King as the main antagonist Scar. Jackman also worked with Disney in 2011’s Reel Steel. Scar was originally voiced by Jeremy Irons back in the classic 1994 animated film.

Jackman was also seen is Disneyland at the time of this post. So expect him to be announced with the rest of the cast during today’s panel. He joins Donald Glover as Simba, Billy Eichner as Timon, Seth Rogan as Pumba and John Oliver as Zazu. James Earl Jones will also return to voice Mufasa.

:: Update :: – Hugh Jackman didn’t appear at the D23 Expo during The Lion King segment of the Disney Panel. However, it should be noted that none of the voice cast appeared. Which is odd. Stay tuned as the story develops…
