Working Title For Channing Tatum’s ‘Gambit’ Revealed

Looks like Channing Tatum’s Gambit spin-off X-Men film is finally getting off the ground. After being in development hell for the past several years; it seemed the film would never get made. However, just like Ryan Reynolds and Deadpool; Channing Tatum stuck with it and is still very much set to star as the raging cajun Gambit.

Just last week we had heard that director Gore Verbinski had signed on to direct the picture with production (hopefully) starting sometime early next year.

Now we at Omega Underground have learned from a recent production listing that the working title for Gambit will be none other than Chess. This is an obvious reference to the knight’s gambit move in chess. This working title was used back in 2015 when Rupert Wyatt was attached but seems like the studio is recycling the title.

With everything in place to actually get cameras rolling expect some major casting news by the end of the year. Daniel Craig and Lea Seydoux were both rumored for the roles of Mr. Sinister and Bella Donna.

Gambit has no set release date but may be released February 14th, 2019
