‘Force Awakens’ VFX Supervisor Roger Guyett Returns For ‘Episode IX’

The Last Jedi’s highly anticipated release comes next month but Episode IX is still a bit of a mystery. The untitled third chapter in the new Star Wars trilogy recently saw J.J. Abrams returning to saga when Colin Trevorrow exited the project.

Production is reportedly set to begin this June at Pinewood Studios in the UK.

Well, we have a crew addition to share that should make Force Awakens fans happy as visual effects supervisor Roger Guyett will return for Episode IX. It’s unknown if he’ll also work as second unit director again but there is a good chance he will.

Guyett and his vfx teams have earned Oscar nominations for Force Awakens, Star Trek, Star Trek Into Darkness, and Harry Potter & The Prisoner of Azkaban. He’s worked consistently with Abrams and his return should help ease the nerves of fans who have been a bit nervous about this third outing.
