‘Charlie’s Angels’ Reboot Expected To Shoot This Spring In Budapest

Sony has been quietly developing a feature film reboot of the Charlie’s Angels franchise. Variety had previously reported that actresses Kristen Stewart and Lupita Nyong’o (Star Wars, Black Panther) were in the mix for lead roles.

Omega Underground has an update of sorts as Charlie’s Angels is expected to begin filming on April 18th in Budapest, Hungary. Budapest has become an attractive production location due to tax incentives and their extremely talented crews.

The film will be directed by Elizabeth Banks (Pitch Perfect 3) and the script was penned by David Auburn (The Lake House) along with screenwriting duo Doug Miro and Carlo Bernard (Narcos, The Great Wall, National Treasure 3).

Sony has slated the film for release on June 7th, 2019.
