Neal Scanlan Returning To Tackle Creature Effects For ‘Episode IX’

Neal Scanlan previously worked on Prometheus before getting hired by Lucasfilm to oversee the new Star Wars creature shop. He’s worked on all of the new films from The Force Awakens up to Solo: A Star Wars Story.

Now, we have learned that Neal will also continue his creature work on J.J. Abrams’ Episode IX as well.

I guess we’re getting more Porgs?

We previously mentioned that costume designer Michael Kaplan will also be returning.

Episode IX is expected to begin shooting this June at Pinewood and has been set for release on December 20th, 2019.
