Oscar-Winning ‘Shape of Water’ Production Designer Tackling ‘IT: Chapter 2’

While casting the adult roles for IT: Chapter 2  is currently underway, pre-production is quickly coming together for its summer shoot.

Omega Underground has learned that The Shape of Water production designer and recent Oscar-winner Paul D. Austerberry has joined the production team. They’ve also added Shape of Water and Baby Driver art director Nigel Churcher (Scott Pilgrim, Ant-Man).

The Shape of Water and IT both filmed at Pinewood Toronto Studios, the sequel is set to return to those stages too.

We first revealed that filming would begin on July 3rd and wrap on October 20th in Toronto.

Bill Skarsgard is confirmed to be returning as Pennywise. While Jessica Chastain, Bill Hader, and James McAvoy are in the mix for the three of the adult roles.

Austerberry was attached to Guillermo del Toro’s Fantastic Voyage remake at 20th Century Fox but it remains to be seen if that’ll go ahead in the fall as previously expected as del Toro’s options have opened up.
