Director Steven Spielberg Developing ‘Blackhawk’ For DC; May End Up Directing

Today, it has been announced that Ready Player One director Steven Spielberg along with his Amblin Entertainment will team-up with Warner Brothers once again to develop an adaption of DC Comics older property Blackhawk. This will mark the second time the director has tried to develop this property as he tried doing it in the 80’s before switching over to direct Raiders of the Lost Ark. Right now Spielberg is only producing the project but the studio is keen on him to direct it as well. Long time Spielberg collaborator David Koepp has been hired to pen the script.

Spielberg added:

“It was wonderful working with the team at Warner Bros. to bring ‘Ready Player One’ to the screen. They bring a blend of passion and professionalism to everything they do and have a tremendous history in this genre. I am excited to reunite with them on ‘Blackhawk.’”

Blackhawk has no set release date
