‘Deadpool 2’ Director David Leitch Set To Direct ‘The Division’

Today, Variety announced that Deadpool 2 director David Leitch has boarded to helm The Division feature film based on the video game. This comes out after Leitch also boarded the Fast & Furious spin-off film Hobbs & Shaw at Universal starring Dwayne Johnson and Jason Statham.

The stunt coordinator turned director has been given many high-profile franchises after he co-directed action film John Wick and then last year’s Atomic Blonde. The Division will star Jake Gyllenhaal and Jessica Chastain as they enter a quarantined New York City from a virus epidemic. Hobbs & Shaw is expected to start filming later this year which means The Division won’t start until sometime in 2019.

The Division has no set release date
