Tech Tips to Balance Work-Life in a Condo

Some people find it difficult to achieve optimal work-life balance in a WFH setup. Luckily, technology can be harnessed for gains and not serve as a distraction. Having a good balance does have a positive impact on your health and well-being. With this in mind, here are five tech tips to start with as you manage your new life at the 8@BT condo.

Define Boundaries

The first step is to set up a dedicated workspace that can act as your home office. Define boundaries by shutting down your computer when work is over and disabling email and messaging notifications.

Opt for Ergonomic Gadgets

Working while sitting down for extended periods of time can be detrimental to your health, especially your back, neck, and eyes. That said, you can employ several countermeasures using ergonomic and eye-friendly gadgets, such as a monitor filter, a chair with lumbar support, and a standing desk, among others.

Invest in Noise Cancelling Headphones

A good pair of noise-cancelling headphones allow you to work with minimal distractions in your home. Put it on during your shift and you’ll have a higher chance of working more efficiently. Do your research and find a brand and a product that meets all your audio needs, including a noise-cancelling mic for calls and conferences.

Unplug Regularly

Every now and then you can engage in an unplugging session. This means disconnecting from tech and all the gadgets in your condo, with the exception of emergency calls and for daily living. On weekends, focus on pursuing offline hobbies or learning a new skill so you can further your career.

Use a Time Management App

A time management app can go a long way towards keeping you productive and busy through your shift. It can keep you focused and feel a sense of accomplishment at the end of the day.
