Pastor Mike Signorelli: The world needs to stand united and support essential service workers

Pastor Mike Signorelli

The heroic group of essential workers from across the world has an important role to play in the day to day saga of our lives. The efforts and struggles we witness about these selfless pillars of the community – the cleaning staff and janitors, the meat pickers and farm workers, the public transit operators and grocery store workers, the bank staff and delivery drives, and the brave nurses and medical staff at the hospitals – who work round the clock in service to the greater good certainly deserve every iota of appreciation and acknowledgement, especially since most of them are silently exploited or normally ignored. The work they perform has always been momentous, and it shouldn’t take a huge crisis for people to realize it. And that’s exactly what the New York-based pastor, Mike Signorelli, believes, as he puts emphasis on the fact that the world needs to stand united to support essential service workers.

“They are and will continue to be extraordinary. But for all that, our praises of them encircle hollowness. Addressing them as heroes allows people like us who are, unlike them, in privileged positions, to stay at home to witness the fact that these essential workers agreed to put forth humanity, before anything else – be in times of a natural calamity, war, pandemics, terror attacks, or other global crisis. The least we all, including the world’s leaders, can do is be grateful towards their services and extend a spirit of cooperation to help them work better for more,” shared Signorelli.

In his opinion, the present-day world scenario demands people to preserve the dignity of those who are constantly at the forefront to fulfill their commitment towards society. As a strong advocate of peace, social change, and prayer, Signorelli encourages everyone to show solidarity towards essential workers and aim at restoring hopes as well as righting the wrongs. Having witnessed inequalities and injustices done against people throughout the world, the Indiana-native urges those in a privileged position to rescue others who are encountering unemployment and poverty. As the founder and owner of V1 Church, Signorelli, in most of his speeches, can often be seen addressing the importance of treating people with compassion, empathy, and equality, regardless of their positions, power, or background.

He also further stated, “The need of the hour is to work unitedly to battle hindrances that affect the unprivileged around the world. As the saying goes, change begins at home – and thus, we must foster a culture of care in order to make this world worth living in. Now is the time to recognize that nobody but the essential workers are constantly putting their lives on the line to help those in need of them.”

To communicate this message and bring about a change in the ideology of people, Signorelli, other than overseeing the functioning of V1, also looks into conducting training and leadership development activities for the entrepreneurial community every once in a while. His non-cliched approach towards things has led him to global conferences and events to offer strategies to pastors, business owners, and leaders of multinationals. Through his works, he only aims to become someone who’s relatable, approachable, and inspirational, especially to the skeptics. As he continues striving towards the betterment of people and society overall, there’s little that’s been done, and a lot more that’s yet to be accomplished, believes Signorelli. The road ahead is not so easy, but the pastor hopes to lead the way like a guiding star towards a better tomorrow.
